Unexpected blow for liquor consumers in Telangana!
Alcohol lovers in Telangana are likely to face an unpleasant surprise soon, as reports suggest that liquor prices across the state might go up again. The Revanth Reddy-led government has already increased the prices of beer, making a single bottle cost as much as ₹200. Now, the government appears to be preparing for another round of price hikes.
This time, the focus is reportedly on increasing prices of premium liquor rather than low-cost or “cheap” alcohol. Sources indicate that the government is planning to raise the prices of liquor bottles that cost ₹500 or more by about 10%.
This means consumers may have to pay at least ₹50 more per bottle. Reportedly, three pricing proposals have been discussed, and a 10% hike is likely to be finalized. If implemented, this price revision is expected to generate an additional ₹2,000 crore annually for the state treasury.
However, it remains to be seen how much of this information is officially confirmed.
