Phanindra Narsetti, the filmmaker who gained recognition with the short film Madhuram and later stepped into feature films with Manu, is making his comeback after a long seven-year gap. His latest project, 8 Vasantalu, starring Ananthika Sanilkumar in the lead role, is backed by the prestigious Mythri Movie Makers. The film’s teaser has just been released.
The teaser introduces us to Shuddhi Ayodhya, played by Ananthika, as she discusses moving on from a failed love story with her partner. When he questions whether she truly understands heartbreak, the story rewinds, unveiling her own past. We see a delicate young woman experiencing deep love, only to endure painful rejection. Phanindra Narsetti’s use of reverse storytelling is a bold and engaging choice, drawing audiences into an emotional journey. The teaser concludes with Shuddhi, now a strong and resilient woman, delivering a poignant line: “Everyone carries a storm of pain within them; some express it, while others hide it.”
Hesham Abdul Wahab’s soulful music enhances the film’s fresh and visually appealing aesthetic. In addition to Ananthika, the film features Ravi Teja Duggirala, Hanu Reddy, Kanna, and Sanjana in key roles. With its deep emotions and unique narrative style, 8 Vasantalu is shaping up to be a film worth watching.
